Notes on habit-making

James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, presents a series of “laws” for starting (or breaking) habits for life-long impact. The 3rd Law, “Make It Easy,” highlights the following ideas:

⭐️ “The more energy required, the less likely it is to occur.”

⭐️ “When we remove the points of friction that sap our time and energy, we can achieve more with less effort.”

⭐️ “Human behavior follows the Law of Least Effort. We will naturally gravitate toward the option that requires the least amount of work.”

Like habit-making, we tend to get in our own way when it comes to starting (or growing) our own businesses.

Your services, your product, and your brand should be easy (and fun) to market. Brand, like habit, thrives on consistency.

Identify what areas in your brand marketing have too much friction around them.

There are so, so, SO many resources and tools that make brand, design, and marketing readily accessible and intensely low-effort.

What could you start doing differently today to make your life as a business owner a little bit easier tomorrow?
